What's On My iPod

Lenny Kravitz - "Thinking of You" - I am always down for some Lenny Kravitz, and Jiggins posted a song Lenny did with Cree Summer over at Facebook (thanks for showing me some new music!). It got me wanting to listen to my favorite Lenny Kravitz album, "5". This is a good example of Lenny's soul sound.

LCD Soundsystem - "North American Scum" - I was certain this song was featured in the movie "Blades of Glory" but I didn't find it on the Soundtrack? Can anyone tell me if I'm correct or what movie this song is from? This has an awesome indie/alternative sound, good for driving, cleaning or working out (or of course, just rocking out).

Sarah Brightman w/Andrea Bocelli, "Time To Say Goodbye" - A close friend of mine was browsing some of my new music today, and he was genuinely surprised by this one. I love it when I'm unpredictable! True, I tend to have a rather hard edge in my music tastes, but this is an absolutely beautiful song, and there are bits of this new age/classical in my catalog, albeit a small category. :) Oh! This was also featured in "Blades of Glory", I believe the opening scene, and also left off the soundtrack. Hmpf!

Akon - "Right Now (Na Na Na)" - I just recently picked up Akon's new album "Freedom", and there's really only one song I don't want to listen to over and over. He's a pretty refreshing taste of R&B to me - and it's not that others haven't put out good material, but Akon and Ne-Yo are crooners of sorts who add just the right amount of Soul to the R&B and shake it up with some great beats.

Ne-Yo - "Stop This World" - Speaking of Ne-Yo, I have to give props to the hometown boy (he grew up in Vegas, and for you locals, I learned the other day that he graduated from Rancho High School :::cough:::). I was disappointed to see there isn't a music video for this song, but this is my favorite from Year of the Gentleman album - it's sticky sweet schmoopy stuff.

I really like Cree Summer. I heard of her once from a friend long ago.. if you get a chance - check out her whole album. It is so emotionally written. It's really quite beautiful.

And interestingly when I look up LCD Soundsystem and Blades of Glory in the same Google search, I see them come up together quite a bit.. but seem not to be related. I never saw the movie. I did see reference to the Stepbrothers Movie with Will Ferrel though.

I LOVE CREE SUMMER. :) Her album still gets regular play on my ipod.

..and the Sarah Brightman w/Andrea Bocelli, "Time To Say Goodbye" is hauntingly good. It is a nice one to see the Bellagio water show to. I think it's the most popular as well, and rightfully so!

Fixinto: That must be it, Stepbrothers. I'd seen 2 Will Farrell movies back to back and apparently confused them. :)

Jiggins: I think I'm gonna go d/l that Cree Summer album!

I first heard Time To Say Goodbye at the Bellagio Water Show and fell in love with it. Such a beautiful song.
