What's On My iPod

Jack Johnson - "Flake" - This is off Jack's debut album but I just heard it like a week ago. It's a really depressing song, but it's got a great sound. I don't own any of his full length albums and I am not sure why... Hmmmm....

We Are Scientists - "After Hours" - I heard this and went looking immediately on Amazon for it. It is on the Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist soundtrack, but I saw they'd also released it on an album, so I checked it out - and ended up downloading the whole thing, and yes, it's that good! This is a very entertaining and a bit different video.

Paramore - "Misery Business" - I downloaded their whole album Riot today, haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but this is one of the two tracks I already know and dig.

Ray Parker Jr. - "I Still Can't Get Over Loving You" - I know he's really known for his Ghostbusters song, but this is a pretty good 80's classic as well. The video is so hokey, soooooo 80's!

The Ataris - "Boys of Summer" - I'm a little snotty about remakes, even judgemental, if you will. This remake of Don Henley's song is pretty damn good - gives it a harder edge, and I liked it the first time I heard it (which almost never happens). I think this remake is actually from around 2006.

I love Paramore. Crushcrushcrush is one of my favorite songs to do on Rock Band. And "Chick Lit" by We Are Scientists is awesome!

"Flake" and "Bubble Toes" off of Brushfire Fairytales.. are two of my favorite songs."Flake" isn't so much depressing.. that's just a mellow flow. The guy is from Hawaii:) lol.

I just listened to 'We are Scientists' .. i think you may have set me onto something I enjoy with this one.. i'll let you know.

I never got into Paramore..

That Ray Parker Jr. song is ooooldskool... at least for me. I'm not even getting near it.

I am a big fan of the original Don Henley version of 'Boys Of Summer' ..and I do agree that the Atari's did a great remake and gave it an edgier sound - Along with changing the sticker in the song from "Dead-Head," to "Black Flag." I really like it.

my ipod is so random.. i wouldn't know where to start with a post like this!

VP: Yeah Paramore is pretty good. It took me a bit to get into them for some reason...

Jiggins: I read the words to Flake after listening to it once, made me think it was one of those songs like "If You Were Here" by the Thompson Twins, something that sounds really sweet but giving it a listen you realize there's nothing very sweet or happy about it.

I remember seeing the video for "After Hours" awhile back and instantly liked it but didn't know if I liked the song more than the video.

Ray Parker Jr... "I Still Can't Get Over Loving You" is definitely a song they have shelved on radio. Parker would be a good episode for our show someday as he has a lot of really well written songs that people forget about ("The Other Woman," "You Can't Change That" and "A Woman Needs Love (Just Like You Do)" to name a few) in lieu of the massively-overplayed for its time "Ghostbusters."

I need to hear more Paramore but like the urgency of the song/video.
