I had this red truck back in 1993 and I'd found this beautiful red heart stone pendant that I hung from the rear view mirror. I'm told it's a bloodstone, and according to Wikipedia, bloodstone is "the original birthstone for March. It is said that bloodstone creates harmony and balance, and promotes self-esteem." I'd also read somewhere once that it has protective qualities - and so ever since then it's been hung from the rear view mirror of whatever vehicle I own. Here's a picture of it:
I've had some serious near misses as far as bad accidents - was it the stone? Probably not. But I'm a little superstitious to remove it, it's something I must have in my car. I find it amusing, because as a whole I'm really not superstitious, but I do have a few little quirks... this being one of them. Besides, I've had it hanging there, garnishing my vehicles for what seems like forever, and I'm emotionally attached to it.

I'm not a superstitious person either, but I have a couple quirk items. I have a necklace that hangs from my rearview mirror. It's just a maroon string with an infinity symbol on it. Why it has to be hanging from the mirror? I don't know, it just does. I also will not leave my house without wearing my necklace with Jesus on the cross. I'm not a bible thumper by any means, it's just something that my weird head tells me I must have on. The last thing I have to have on always, unless I'm in the shower, is my grandmother's opal ring. It's just my weird way of having her with me.

I used to have one of those little Jesus cards in my glove compartment. I've been in a few just-missed-being-catastrophic accidents myself, and I was always glad I had it!
I love the heart! You'll need to keep it forever and pass it down to Maddie when she starts driving :)
