Today we had the birthday party for Madison and her cousin Breana. We got to a rough start as the cake was over an hour late due to a bakery mishap surrounding someone else's cake. The bakery manager was very nice so I couldn't be angry, and we ended up making the party on time anyway. Here's a picture of the cake:
We had the party at the Lied Children's Discovery Museum, and the kids had a blast. What I think I liked most was that they run a really tight ship (and we all know how I am about time and schedules)... so there was always a representative there moving the party from phase to phase. They started out with some time to play in the museum, and then a museum team member showed the kids a little science about bubbles and showed that almost anything can be used to make bubbles, even paper:
How do you like the tiaras the birthday girls are sporting? They have big butterflies on them that light up, I couldn't wait to wear Madison's (and there's proof at Flickr).
After bubbles there was pizza, presents and cake. The best part? We didn't have to clean up!! The girls enjoyed their day - the party was a total success, and now that she's off to bed, I've walked and ready to pass out after today's activities. Be sure to visit Amy's blog, she and Ken were guests at the party today and she wrote a little about it. There are also plenty more pictures at Flickr, so have a gander if you are so inclined. Hope you are having a great weekend!

cute cake. cuter dress. even cuter birthday girl. I can't believe how big she's gotten since I first started reading your blog! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Wow! What a cake...I'm sure Madison was thrilled. It looks too good to eat.
My kids always loved the tiaras on their birthday. I'll have to jump over to Flickr to check out how you look.
Off I go to read Amy's blog.
LORA! Just yesterday she was in diapers...have I been reading your blog for that long! What a great party, good planning! I am glad she had so much fun. Off to flicker...
That is an awesome cake! I want one!
Sounds like an incredibly fun birthday. Happy Birthday Maddie! Here is something funny. Yesterday I went to the Las Vegas Library on the way to work and I saw a party going on as I walked by and I could have sworn I recognized the people there. I think I saw you and Amy! :)
No cleanup? How did you manage that?
The cake does seem gorgeous for a princess.
That cake is definitely worth the mild hassle you went through to get it. It looks too pretty to eat, honestly. The girls looked like they had a great birthday party. They're both adorable. Oh and you rockin the tiara is awesome. Why don't adults have these kind of fun birthday parties?
Happy Birthday Madison and Breana!
