Another New Toy

Today I made an awesome gadget purchase: a bluetooth headset. Ironically, when these first became all the rage, I was the first to poke at friends and coworkers, even using the urban dictionary term "bluetool" as an opportunity to ridicule. Sadly, I sold out some months ago and purchased a refurbished bluetooth accessory from Woot.com. It was a Verizon model and thankfully I only paid $20, just as a test model, as it sucked. It was awkward to wear and the sound quality was poor, but what do you expect for $20? However, it told me what was important if I was really going to invest in a future model.

I'm not that great at doing research before I buy. In fact, I'm horrible at it. I decide that I want something, and I make a bee-line for the nearest place selling such goodies and exclaim "Wrap it up!". As you can imagine, this can be a huge mistake at times. You'd think I'd learn. heh

I decided this week I've been holding my brick of a Treo phone way too much and it was getting in the way of productivity. I promptly made my way to Best Buy and bought a Plantronics Discovery model bluetooth accessory. Luckily - I was not disappointed. It fits my small ears perfectly - it doesn't interfere with my glasses, and the sound quality is pretty damn good. Most importantly - it was a seamless connection to the phone, and SO EASY to use. I'll get used to it in no time.

Good for you! I don't have one, but then again I don't need one. I am the opposite of you...I research the hell out things before I buy them and then get frustrated because too much info makes it hard to decide.
