But that is one of our most 'friendly' governments, even if what, 15 of the 19 9-11 hijackers and most of the money came from there?
Thanks for pointing this out. I don't think enough people realize the oppression that so many Middle Eastern Muslim women face.
( BTW I am getting certified to be a sexual assault/rape counselor in Jan/Feb next year.)
Wow is all I can say. This just blows my mind. It amazes me to see the many differences in cultures,customs, laws,etc. Reading articles like this definately makes one appreciate our justice system (albeit a many flawed one)that much more.

While I've never been a supporter of the government's decision to go into Iraq, I certainly recognize that some cultures have miles to go when it comes to human rights.
I know the US is not guilt free, but the way women are treated as second-class citizens in certain parts of the world saddens and frustrates me.
Some cultures are wrong. Period.
It is amazing what a legal system based on different ideologies will allow. Yes, I'm glad that you are in America and that it has a different legal system based on another ideology.
