She's So Bossy!

Madison asked me to sit on the floor and play ball tonight - here's what happened:

"Mommy, let's play ball!"

"Okay, roll it to me."

"No Mommy, sit like this." Apparently I wasn't sitting right. So then she rolls the ball to me.

"No, no, no, catch it like this." I needed two hands to touch the ball when catching it. So I roll it back.

"No, no, no. Not like that, like this!" I must roll back to her using two hands as well...

"No bouncies! Just roll it, Mommy."

"Okay, I'll roll it back, Madison."

"Too fast! Slow it down!"

Sigh. And if you tell me she got it from me, say it nicely, and smile. Don't forget the smile. It's not polite to insult someone without the smartass smile. Not some stupid grin, either. The smartass smile. No teeth in the smile!

Heh!

I do not know that I would have been so bold as to directly say she got it from you... more like a tongue-in-cheek question of, "Hmmm, I wonder where she got that?"

All said, of course with a smart ass smile -- just for you!

I think all children are like that. I was on the phone with my boss yesterday and his daughter came in to show him a metal detector she bought. When he mentioned that she had the wrong batteries, she started whining until he committed to fix it...

I wouldn't say bossy. Maybe she's just knowledgeable about this ball-rolling thing. B)

Well, I can't comment on this whole bossy thing, but you all are too funny. I think "an80snut" might be onto something though.

I thought "no bouncies" was common knowledge.

Oh heheheh I am sorry. I don't have any room to laugh because Jacob already seems to be like that and he is only 9 months.

Maybe she learned it from school, you know all the other kids and teachers telling her what to do all day.

She's not bossy. She just like things a certain way. Her way. I can admire that. :)
