I've Been Tagged! 7 Songs

"List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what they are. They must be songs you are presently enjoying. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to."

I got tagged by Vegas Princess for this task, which I was more than happy to do! We all know how much I love, love, love music! So here we go (in no particular order). Each song has a link to its video on YouTube:

"Think I'm In Love" by Beck. When Beck first arrived in my ears way back with "Devil's Haircut", I wasn't so sure about him. I didn't really start enjoying all of his music until recently, and this song is just one of those blare it really loud when you drive and sing along songs.

"Irreplaceable" by Beyonce'. This is all about girl power, and I dig that. As a whole, I'm not so much a fan, but there are three or four of her songs I just love.

"Gone Daddy Gone" by Gnarls Barkley. I'm usually not a big fan of remakes. Let me clarify - I'm not a big fan of remakes from something I know very well. Take for instance "Hazy Shade of Winter" by The Bangles. Simon and Garfunkel sang it originally (or did they remake it too?). Anyway, I heard the Bangles' version first, so that's the version I'm attached to. This Violent Phemmes song was done rather well by Gnarls Barkley - and the Notorious B.I.G. sampling in it doesn't even annoy me.

"Trees" by Marty Casey and the Lovehammers. (There is no video for this song?! So I found his performance on Rockstar: INXS.) I must say I temporarily forgot about Marty after the show, but thankfully came across him and his band on ITunes. This song is just damn good.

"Forever" by Papa Roach. Why haven't I purchased anything by this band previously mystifies me. I have a few of their songs from various sources, but when I heard this song, I was hooked.

"Smile" by Lily Allen. I heard this a few times and downloaded it, it has a nice sound and her voice is so... sweet. Then I actually listened to the words and cracked up. The song took on a whole new meaning, and I love it. Read the words here. I hear she's a bit of an English bad girl...

"All The Same" by Sick Puppies. I know I mentioned them already, so I won't bore you with it again... suffice to say, this is a nice love song.

I'm not going to tag anyone - but feel free to post!

Please excuse my bad manners in barging in on your blog, but your comment about Marty Casey and Lovehammers was so nice I had to say something. :-)

I'm so glad you re-found Marty on iTunes, and I hope you'll make it a point to listen to more of the band's music. You'd probably enjoy their previous work, as well. Check out Murder on My Mind for harder rocking songs and L'Strange for a more melodic sound, both at iTunes.

Thanks for spreading some love for Lovehammers!

I love these types of memes! We get to see each other's tastes and discover new and fun things! I can't wait to test some of those songs out because they sound like great ones.

Lily Allen's album has been in heavy rotation on my mp3 player. It's just fun, bouncy, cheeky, music.

Trees is such a good song. I really wanted him to win Rock Star. It was probably for the better for him and his band that he didn't.
