Crash

I was on a roll last week and posted a few times, then had the nerve to disappear for a few days. Humpf!

All I have to say is Hallelujah! It's Friday.

Yesterday Madison and I were on the way home from Grandma's house, and here's what unfolded:

Madison: "Mommy, airplane!"
Mommy: "Really, where?"

Crash. *&$#$Y&#!

I was rolling at a green light and apparently everyone stopped without notifying me first. I rear-ended a Monte Carlo in front of me. I turned to Madison to make sure she was okay. Apparently the bump was funny. She laughed.

The lady I hit was Karma being kind to me. I put a small dent over her license plate and took a two-inch stripe of paint off her bumper. She just wanted to forget about it and go home. I insisted she take my number just in case, and apologized profusely. It was totally my fault - but I was jumping for joy inside that I didn't find someone looking for a payoff to have a fender-bender with. I haven't had an accident that was my fault in 20 years, and then I break my lucky streak with my child in the car! I felt horrible. When we left I explained to Madison that Mommy had just created an accident and that she was sorry. My car got the worse end of the deal; I'll be purchasing a new front bumper for the Tucson. It didn't suffer much damage, but the big crease there is glaring at me. It must go.

It's amazing what children pick up. On our way home tonight we were stopped at a red light. Madison pointed to the Tahoe in front of us and said "No accident, Mommy." Sigh.

Oh man, I'm glad everybody's okay and the damage isn't too bad. I love Madison's comment-- nothing like a backseat driver, eh?

Did ya ever see the plane she was talking about? hehehe Have a great holiday weekend!

And with the bumper exchange, no accident it will be. Glad everyone is OK, and that no one is looking to make a quick buck off of you. VERY glad on all accounts. Enjoy your weekend, and get lost in her gymnastics ... no accident.

I wonder how long you will have to hear that. hahaha Happy that Karl is going back the Hyundai dealership now, huh? B) I'm glad no one was hurt.

Glad it was just a small fender-bender. And I'm glad you were nice and apologetic about it. Some lady rear-ended me last year and she had the nerve to be all huffy about it. She was all frantic like she was late for something and goes, "Oh, I really don't have time for this!" To which I replied, "obviously you're short on time or you wouldn't have tried to go THROUGH me." Did she think getting rear-ended was on my day planner?

Wow! The new moments we live through are certainly frought with adventure sometimes. I'm glad you and Maddy are okay though.

Funny how she laughed at it. Kind of puts it all in perspective doesn't it?

:D

Thank goodness you are all OK, and the damage was minimal. It's amazing how easy it is to become distracted whilst driving.
Take care, Meow
