Awww... Just keep the car keys from her a little longer.
Wait until they turn into teenagers and just give you a grunt. It's still a "hi", so I'll take it.

Sounds like the daycare thing is going well! I love those moments, they make you smile and make you want to cry at the same time. I agree with Fred, the grunt thing is the language I often hear from Josh these days. Grunt, food?, grunt, ignore...
They start talking, then they never shut up, then they become teenagers and you wish they would start talking again.
