"Mommy, do you know what it means to be separated?"
"Well it usually means 'to be away from', Madison, why?"
"Like being separated from your friends, right? To be away from your friends."
"Yes, that would apply. Were you separated from your friends today?"
"Yes, I was separated."
"What does that mean, Madison?"
"Well it was circle time, and I was with N. and B. We were talking. So the teacher separated us today."
And so it begins. My elementary school years were riddled with report cards that read something to the effect of "Lora does very well in school, but she is always talking to her neighbors." I do believe Karl was much the same way. Uh oh.

Better to be friendly and have too many friends than to just sit in the corner and ignore it all.
