Like, OMIGAWD!

I started watching "Valley Girl" on the treadmill tonight... have you seen this movie? Below is the movie cover, but it's been so damn photo-shopped that it does it no justice.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe this was Nicolas Cage's first leading movie role - and uh yeah, I totally had a crush on him. Like I'm so sure! I mean, like, just look at him:

I was talking with someone about this very movie earlier today, and I pondered if time was kind to this movie. You know there are some movies that were damn good back in the day, but the story isn't quite as good two decades later. It's as if you just can't relate to the storyline anymore. Sure, the language in this film is wayyyyyyyy dated. But the storyline? Still works. It's just like so many other 80's teen flicks - a twisted love story, youth angst and a happy ending. I daresay this movie is better than "Say Anything"... and that's big, considering I'm a HUGE John Cusack fan. So, if you haven't seen it, but you like that whole 80's cheesy love story, this is a must see. The female lead to this movie is Debra Foreman, who you might also remember from the movie "My Chauffer" - another 80's love story, but has some seriously effing comedic genius in it.

Oh and Randy... don't even start! LOL

OMIGAWDDDDD!!! I'd rag on you but I can't. I'm guilty of loving 80s movies. So you're SORTA off the hook.

BTW....what the EFF was up with Nick Cage's chest hair in this movie? HAHAHAHA

Never saw this one, wasn't much of a movie watcher back then. I missed out on a lot of "classics" form that era. Still don't have much of an attention span, but this one's on my Netflix queue

Randy: I know, is that some kind of Bermuda triangle on his chest? LOL

Nik: This one's only 1.5 hours... I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Christina: It's so gnarly, fer sure!

On Dead Letter Office, REM has a song("Bandwagon",I think) that they say is from "the soundtrack to a movie that shall remain nameless."..I'm fairly certain "Valley Girl" is that movie. I have not seen it in awhile, but I remember quite enjoying it, and having a bit of a crush on Miss. Foreman, who was also the star of "April Fool's Day", and had a bit part in "real Genius" one of my all time favorite movies.

The hair screams 80s. I actually saw this one. It was mindless enjoyment.

I might have to check this one out as long as Nicholas Cage isn't as stupid as he is in some of his other earlier movies.
