When I've told people in the past that I'd never seen the movie "Speed", they look at me like I hadn't seen "E.T." or "Star Wars". I am, admittedly, a Keanu Reeves fan as well - but this movie just never appealed to me? Why? I have no idea, but I finally watched it tonight, and I was not disappointed! It had moments of seriously hokey action, I mean, really... there were a lot eye rolling scenes! But it was really good action without just a bunch of guns and explosions, but more stunts and just pure entertainment. I must say that the demise of Howard Payne (Dennis Hopper) was not expected, I never see the decapitation coming... never!
If you haven't seen it in awhile, watch it. You won't regret it. It's a breath of fresh air amidst franchises such as "Die Hard" or "Terminator", and it's got just the right amount of cheese.

*gives you "that" look* You, being a Keanu fan, should have seen this long ago. Definitely a bored, nothing better to watch movie.
Yeah. I saw it when it first came out. A friend of mine referred to it as "Bus" and for me, that name stuck. It's a fun movie. That's for sure. Glad you enjoyed it.
One movie I refused to see in the theater was Twister. I mean really, what was the sequel going to be? Partly Cloudy?
Check these out! re·[frac]·tion Chocolate!
Bus, yes, and that frikin' bus driver with her mouth.
I actually liked Speed, but was disappointed with the sequel.
Just DON'T watch Speed 2! LMAO
Hmm. Homer Simpson told me it was called "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down."
it's on cable now - and I'll have you know Live Free or Die Hard is the best of the Die Hard movies!
