What's In My Head

I drive around a lot during the workday, and I've seen a startling number of vacant businesses lately. Just last week I noticed a Burger King that had been there forever just closed up shop. Today I found out the Wendy's that I worked at as my first job is gone, empty, kaput, done... that was just crazy and sad all at the same time. It's impossible to ignore the state of our economy.

Popsicles on a hot summer day are...magic!

Madison complained of a sore tummy on the way home. She's done it before, no big deal - until she turned down her favorite crackers that she usually grabs from a basket by the door. As soon as we got inside the house, she promptly emptied her stomach all over the hallway. Nice, eh? I am thinking though it was just the last snack she had at school, which was obviously pineapple from what I had to clean up, LOL. She didn't hurl anymore, and was able to keep water down, so I think her stomach just didn't like the pineapple. Poor baby, it's so hard to watch your kids puke.

I am so tired...took my daytime walk way too late in the afternoon and it pretty much zapped me. My walk tonight was all on autopilot.

I made it to "C" in the music re-recording task! Woooooot! It's gonna take me forevah to finish this. I'm only getting about 10-20 CDs in per day because I'm not actually sitting in front of the laptop all that much.

What's on YOUR mind?

2 walks a day outside in this heat... I think it is official -- you are certifiable!

And thanks so much for the pineapple visual. Did I tell you about Thorndyke's tushy? LOL

As far as the economy, it is in the paper every day that small businesses are closing left and right and major chains are cutting the fat in underperforming areas. It really is scary to see what ONE industry can do to an entire economy. Though that is not really fair, it is more than fuel -- my dad is in textiles and his industry is in the toilet too. Sad, all the way around.

Oh - time for another cup, didn't do well at all.
Sorry for the hall cleanup. But yes, I've been noticing closed places all over, and then the buildings just sitting empty. Z-Tejas went last month, Lone Star on Decatur, lots of places.

Amy: I knew you'd appreciate the visual. :)

Joe: I noticed the Lone Star on Decatur as well! I used to eat there all the time when I lived/worked over there.
