Mac Commercials are Ingenious

While I am not a Mac owner, nor a big Mac fan - I have to give some props to Mac, especially to their marketing department. This whole Mac vs. PC commercial series cracks me up, not to mention the play on Microsoft's obvious flaws is priceless. I saw one today I had to find on YouTube and share:

I make it no secret that I firmly believe Vista is the next Windows ME... all the hype fell flat once users got their hands on it and saw what a mess it is. Too many useless changes, too much thinking for the user, plus administrative nightmares equals pissed off users and IT people who will scoff it into oblivion.

I'm not going to lie - these commercials almost make me want to go out and get a Mac again. I had one for so long and LOVED it.

Mac commercials are gaining the same notoriety as VW commercials...

I cannot remember where I found it, but once I stumbled onto a site where they had the entire series of these commercials. I sat and watched for like 30 or 40 minutes! I love them too. And truth be told, I am a Mac girl from day one. I loved my Mac and treasured it -- got it as an early graduation present from my Mom at the start of my senior year in college.

I only switched over because as I was using AOL more and more, back in the day, the old Macs did not support it well. A friend bought me an emachine and I moved up to my Dell after that. I like Windows and all that PCs have to offer, but I alwasy thought that if Windows made PCs function like a Mac for ease of use, then why not just own the original to begin with. I miss my Mac, and would not be surprised if I switched back with my next computer purchase.

Have a great day!

I guess I'm in the minority! I love Vista. I have it on my laptop which I use most often so when I go to my scrap studio and use my desktop that still has the old SP2, er now 3 since Ruben d/l the update - I feel all out of place. but I know Ruben has issues with Vista and networking them all, but then again having 2 laptops and 4 desktops is quite a bit for one house. Heck he might as well be an IT person instead of a Casino Service Manager (in fact I think he does some if not all the IT stuff at work - depends as there isn't a dedicated IT guy down here)
But I like those commercial. And Justin Long has really went up in my book after seeing him in Live Free or Die Hard. For being a Mac, he sure is cute and uping his sex appeal. but with a girlfriend like Drew Barrymore, can you blame the man. Geeks are in now - ever watch Chuck? yum!

I'm so not a techie, by any means, but I get a kick out of the Mac commercials too. If I was in the market, I'd be half tempted to get a Mac just from the commercials alone. ;)

I've been a Mac user since 1988 (owner since about 1992 or 93) so I obviously enjoy the commercials. I know people who get all swept up in the Mac vs. PC debate like it's a bloodsport, but I've never really gotten into it.

I am glad, however, that Mac has carved out its place in the market for the simple fact that people for so many years predicted its death over and over again.

In addition to my PowerBook, I've also got three iPods and an iPhone.

And I love the ads.
