What's On My iPod

Okay before the videos - I survived jury selection today, and I was dismissed as a juror. This I am quite thankful for, as it was for a murder trial. I feel like I haven't been at work this week at all... oh wait, I really wasn't. :)

Ministry - "Every Day is Halloween" - One of my all-time favorite tunes from the 80's (I know, one of a list of 4 billion). I used to go crazy if I heard this at a club! I don't know if this is an "official" video, but it's a compilation of the scariest and/or goriest horror movie scenes.

Mazzy Star - "Fade into You" - For some reason I thought this song was on the "Singles" soundtrack, but I was mistaken. This song could melt even the mightiest of ice queens.

Thomas Dolby - "Europa & The Pirate Twins" Thomas Dolby is always welcome in my playlist... I don't know that this song made it big in the US but it's one of the first songs that come to mind when I think of him.

The Black Crowes - "Remedy" - The Black Crowes is a band for me that I never think of first when I'm trying to find something to listen to, but when I hear them I remember why I dig 'em.

Joy Division - "Love Will Tear Us Apart" - I can't believe that as many times as I played this during my youth (read as - when Mtv still played videos), I'd never seen the video until tonight.

All of these are teriffic songs. Gotta love early Thomas Dolby and latter day Joy Division. Always liked the vocal presence felt on "Fade Into You." Ministry's follow-up to With Sympathy did go a tad darker but became a dancefloor classic. Gotta love me some early Black Crowes too.
