The Joss Stone Groove Train

I just got home from the most amazing concert!! Amy and I had a fabulous girl's night out tonight, and it was soooooo good to get out with one of my best girlfriends. We started the night out with dinner at Samba in the Mirage. If you're a meat eater, this is definitely the place for you. Men walking around with skewers upon skewers of meat, thus it's been dubbed as "meat heaven". (Insert lewd joke here.) I sweetened the pot with a couple of my favorite cocktails, Jack and diet coke. Mmmmmm mmmmm mmmmmm! Unfortunately there was very little buzz due to the mass quantities of meat I consumed at the same time, but hey... ya know?

We were full and happy and off to the Joss Stone concert at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Our seats were pretty good although I was hoping we'd be more center to the stage, but we had a good view nonetheless. She has this amazing stage presence - very personal with the audience, getting us to sing along, and her voice - oh her voice was fantastic. She sang my favorite song, "Headturner", but when I heard her sing "Tell Me What We're Gonna Do Now" live, it quickly became my new favorite. It made me feel all schmoopy and I was definitely feeling the groove! Anyway... she sang her heart out and even gave us an encore, and I'd pay money to see her again and again. It took me a little while to get used to the sound level - I know I'm no spring chicken anymore but I think if they'd turned down her microphone just a little bit, I would have been able to hear her better... it was all so loud that it was really hard to actually hear the words at times.

The parking garage was its own experience, full of drama and road rage and lots of sitting in one place. LOTS of sitting in one place. Thankfully I was stuck with good company. :) I get to sleep in a little bit as Madison is off at a sleepover at aunt Toni's house... so I think I'll go take advantage of that, right about now...

Sounds like a great time. Did she sing "Right to Be Wrong?" That's my fave.
