Johnny Depp Showing the Love

I've always had a lot of respect for actors like Johnny Depp who stay out of the tabloids and the Hollywood madness... but Mr. Depp just earned big points in my book. He made a surprise visit and a sizeable donation to the hospital which treated his daughter last year - you can read the brief article here.

I like that not only did he give the big bucks, but he showed up as Jack Sparrow and read to kids who were hospitalized there. That seriously rocks. I also appreciate when tabloids show the positive side to Hollywood, too bad the train wrecks bring in the dough.

Ya know, seeing articles like this really makes them more human and I wish press/Hollywood/etc. would focus more on these stories than all the gossip and who's in rehab now kind of crap.

Johnny seems so down to earth and with his personality (especially w/ these kinds of stories) you can't help but like the guy. Can you imagine the looks on all those kids faces when Jack Sparrow walked into the room? How cool would that have been?

Wow would that be neat - to have Capt Jack come by and say hi.

Major agreement. Just going is one thing but to go the extra mile by going in character. Too cool. And yes, these kind of stories get shoved under the carpet.

This is so wonderful. I love when good celebrities use their fame for good instead of evil. You don't get it much these days. And I apologize on behalf of the blood-sucking tragedy leeches I work for that we don't show more of these stories. I would love to see them too!
