Holiday Weekend Recap

It was quite the four-day-weekend!

Saturday we took Madison to the Adventure Dome at Circus Circus. It was more fun for her than I expected, but it's really not that large of a place (i.e., square footage), so by the afternoon it was too crowded for me. Despite the crowds, they have done well in maximizing the fun in such a small area, and when Madison gets to be 42" tall, she'll really be able to enjoy it more. Here she is on one of the kid rides, which she found to be a bit of a snore...

We also stopped at Amy and Ken's place Saturday to wish them a Merry Christmas!

On Sunday we (the family) threw a surprise birthday party for my Dad's 60th birthday. Friends and family were all there to celebrate, and amazingly enough, we pulled it off - it was a complete surprise:

Unfortunately, by Sunday night, Madison and I both came down with a cold... but that didn't keep us completely down. Monday we celebrated Christmas with the in-laws and Madison opened some gifts:

Christmas morning was exciting, here's some of the aftermath:

We spent the afternoon with my family, and I took only video, so there aren't any pictures to share... but trust me when I say the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and a great day was had by all. Madison and I are finally succumbing to this cold, so my four-day-weekend will most likely be a five-day-weekend. I have this strong vision of us on the sofa, in our jammies, under a blanket and watching movies while never moving too far from a box of kleenex! It had to happen sooner or later, this is the first bad cold either of us has had since last winter. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday, and that Santa brought you exactly what you wanted!

You're brave to visit the Strip casinos during Way Too Many Tourists week. I commend you on your courage.

Christmas looks like it was such a good time out your way(minus the mess ;)). Glad you all had a great time celebrating.

I finally got the crudies that have been swirling around too, so I feel yours and Maddy's pain. Thankfully, I don't have it as bad as others though. I hope you're both feeling better and enjoying your free days.

I like the looks on the faces of all the kids faces on the ride. The little guy with his arms up is too funny.

I am sorry you guys are sick. Nothing is worse than getting sick over the holidays.

It looks like you had a great Christmas. I take it Madison is into Princess things?

My dad just turned 60 this year as well, but in August. We are the same age and so are our dads.

Teleolurian: Good point, I never pay attention... Probably because I never spend time on the strip.

Nik: Ya know, this cold could have been much worse, thankfully that's all it's turning out to be for us. Hope you're feeling better soon!!

Teri: I had to go back and look at the pictures, it is SO obvious her love for the Disney Princesses, LOL.
