A Busted Plan

Here's what I did this morning - I finally finished painting the pantry door, frame and floorboards. I am not sure I'm crazy about how I did the yellow accents, there were other ways I could have done it... but I don't know that I'll actually go back and redo it. There's a glare somewhere in the kitchen showing on the door - probably one of those 4 billion art pieces on the refrigerator. :)

Las Vegas is a place that usually loves fireworks. The major hotels all over the city usually have quite the elaborate fireworks show for the 4th, but this year it seems it wasn't meant to be. I have neighbors all over putting on their own elaborate shows - but our family plan to go watch them didn't happen. We had dinner and the kids played, and played, and played. Toni asked if she could take Madison for the night so they could do some fun things tomorrow - so off she went. I didn't know what to do with myself having no kid to bathe, read a book to and tuck in! So I opted for taking a walk and watching the fireworks going off all over the neighborhood.

I did quite well last night on my quest to stay up late - I made it to about 1:30!

Hope everyone had a fabulous and safe holiday.

The door looks fine, and it's easy enough to change up if you get tired of it.

1:30 is pretty late, what time were you aiming for?

Molie: Thank you about the door. Thankfully it wouldn't be a big deal if I decide I hate it. I wasn't really aiming for a time Tuesday night - just trying to change it up a little bit.

The fireworks at Caesars last Saturday were pretty impressive, I must say. It was kinda cool how it stopped all us tourists for a moment to watch them; sort of reminded me of that opera music scene in Shawshank Redemption. :-)

Hi! Great site! I was in Las Vegas for the 4th, on a hotel roof on the Strip with my camera and tripod ready for fireworks, and got nothing! Any idea why none of the casinos hosted fireworks displays on the Strip?
