Weekend Update

What a busy weekend! I spent the end of the week in a pity-party mood, but there's nothing like a productive couple of days to pull you out of the fog. Karl and Keith built new shelves in the garage for storage. This is going to allow me to empty more out of the future playroom. When they were done Karl cleaned it all up and threw a bunch out; I still have a few toys to donate in there but it looks pretty damn good: We got the coat closet cleaned out and the catbox in there. For the next couple of days we'll leave the door open so Dallas can adjust to the new location, then we'll work on getting him to use the cat door. Here's a before picture of the playroom. You'll notice there's some boxes I need to get to the garage cabinets. We are taking the computer out and the desk is going to Karl's brother. I have two hope chests in there, not quite sure where they're going. But we're really, really close to getting the carpets cleaned and making it a fun place to play.

If you look closely, you can tell Dallas prefers to sleep in the desk chair... LOL Now if I can just figure out where I'm going to put my plants. This picture doesn't do the room justice, it's a pretty large bedroom.

We watched "The Lake House" last night. That movie made me sob like a baby. I know I've said this before, but I dig Keanu Reeves. Yeah, his affect is a bit flat, but his acting still works for me. What I really liked was the end - I won't ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it. I never saw it coming, and that's something I love about a good movie.

I hope you all had a great weekend! What were you up to?

The garage looks awesome, so clean. As a person with mild OCD, I love it! LOL I have to say that I don't envy you one bit, having to do all that remodeling, UGH! But the end result is going to be so worth it.

I watched the Lake House a while ago and it was a good one. I was a bit disappointed, cuz it wasn't as sappy as I was hoping it would be. But yeah, the ending was really good.

Here's wishing you a rockin week and a weekend that's here before ya know it!

I'll have to rent The Lake House sometime. I've always wondered if it was cool in a Twilight zoney way or lame in a Lifetime movie way. I've heard varying reviews!

For some reason, none of your pics are showing. Maybe it's me.

Looks like you made some good progress. That's awesome! The playroom is starting to look good. Let me know how th transition of the catbox goes. Amy and I are intrigued!

Sweet Cat door! Looks like a productive weekend, even though you were down. I hope you're feeling better now.

We have organization on our list of this to do next weekend too. There are bunch of closets and boxes that need to be gone through and sorted. Fun fun fun! But you just gave me inspiration.

I LOVED The Lake House. Such a great story and I agree, then end is amazing!

I actually liked the ads that I saw for Lake House. Might have to break down and see it someday.

Great job on the shelves. So, does having two hope chests mean that you just have more hope than others?

I am soooo jealous! It looks fabulous and I am so happy for oiu. We had someone come look at our garage to see about putting up some shelves and cabinets. It looks like we are making a trip to Home Depot.Do your boys hire out? LOL
The lakehouse is one of those mellow, nie watching movies. I understand your thing with Keanu -- there is something so present about his non-presence.
