Happy Tuesday!

Traffic is back to normal after the holidays... yeck. My fellow Las Vegans who have Sirius radio: Channel 155 has weather and traffic information. It's shared with traffic/weather for Detroit, and it switches cities every 4 minutes. How effing cool is that? Thanks to my friend Bryan who called me with the fabulous find.

I'm seriously pissed with CBS. For some reason, the hi-def CBS channel with Cox Communications doesn't work well with the DVR. Sometimes when we pause it, it freezes and we're forced to go live. This happened last night 10 minutes into "How I Met Your Mother" last night. I only got to the part where they were standing in line for the Empire State Building. $#&^!!!

We've run into that before. We also get a lot of crackling from time to time on ABC - especially from the DVR.

You can watch the entire episode on Innertube, available through CBS' website, though.

Man that sucks about the DVR, HIMYM was a good one(awesome that ya can watch online though). I have to thank you, cuz you're the one who got me hooked onto that show. Subsequently, my sis watches now too. I falafal it! hehehe

So, did listening to the weather in Detroit make you completely depressed? I hate cold and this 22 degrees is crap!!

I feel like a total nitwit that I didn't say anything about Channel 155. I listen to it as soon as I hop in my car around 4pm on the way to work. Once I get the updates for Vegas, I change back to Larry Elder. I just wish they would say a quick "I-15 South clear" or "95 South clear" so I can move on quickly.

I have a co-worker with Cox DVR and two Tivos for his DirecTV. It sounds silly, but it makes some sense. He really likes to watch the HD programming and DirecTV didn't have the local channels set up that way (he didn't want the terrestrial antenna.) So, he uses the Cox HD DVR to catch those channels and the others to hit the rest. What has he found out from using both? He hates the DVR. For some reason, it will record 4 to 5 minutes or entirely miss an episode of Heroes even if he checked to see if it is planning to record it. So, the Tivos wind up backing up what he misses from the DVR. It's weird.
