And Phil Gets The Chop

I’ve had some trouble connecting tonight. Blogger sucks sometimes! ‘Nuff said.

Rockstar: Supernova – WTF was up with Zayra. I get the space suit. I really do. If I was a guy, I’d DIG it. But it doesn’t help that she really struggles in the talent department. She’s really out there. Dilana hit it out of the park with Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time”. I really love that song, and I didn’t think anyone could do it as well as the original. Dilana did. I thought the guys gave Patrice kind of a hard time last night – she has some real talent. Well, she changed their minds with the Radiohead song tonight. I’d not heard that song for a long time. She.rocked.it. Jill showed a great new side last night, eh? I liked her newfound edgy. I hope she keeps it, otherwise she’ll need to wear a tiara. Seriously. She’s such a princess. While I don’t care much for Phil or Zayra – I’m kind of surprised it was Phil first. He’s the lesser of two evils, if you ask me.

Karl is in California tonight for a training class. Madison and I ate Del Taco for dinner. We broke all the rules: eating fast food, in the living room, while watching a movie. It’s the second time she’s ever eaten fast food, and I must say – the girl likes a soft taco! We also watched “Monsters, Inc.” It’s certainly not her favorite, but we both enjoyed it with sour cream and cheese all over our fingers! Now she’s in bed, and I am trying to figure out what to do. Watch shows I never get to see? Catch up on Youtube.com? Catch up on my "Young and the Restless" on DVR? (That's a guilty pleasure I've had for over two decades - but that's a whole other post!) Maybe all of the above.

I can never figure out what to do first when I have some time alone either. :-)

Next time you listen to Zayra sing, I want you to think of Bjork. It's kind of interesting but she sometimes gets into a quirky vocal eerily similar. If she could only avoid trying to copy a song and instead creates a new version of it... she may redeem herself but then again I was hoping not to see her again. Phil was due to go. Stage presence was lacking and only seemed to really have some poise when he played off the band members.

Gotta love Del Taco. You're training her well. B)

Amy: It's good to break the rules sometimes!

JJ: That movie is great - I just snicker at Billy Crystal doing Mike Whatever (I know I can't spell it but I can say it a billion times - even Madison got it down right away).

Heather: It's such an odd yet nice surprise, I get lost...

Martin: I can see what you mean about Bjork, just picturing it in my head. I think what annoys me most is it seems like she's not really putting forth any effort. She murdered the Blondie song, and that really turned me off (stage antics vs. singing). You're right about Phil - NO stage presence.

I think they kept Zayra because she promised to sing a true rock song next week and shes a sideshow all on her own. i think Gilbey Clark did show a double standard in ripping on Jill for grinding I wish jordis and susie mcneiil were back on this year!!! They both ROCK!!!
