Weekend Update

Thanks to everyone who was encouraging while we went through that roller coaster ride last week. It's a bummer the house deal was nothing more than a learning experience - but I'm so over it. Looking around our current house that is just perfect for now, and doesn't cost us a small fortune - we'll find what we're looking for, all in good time.

I'm a subscriber to Yahoo's Weekly Picks - an email I receive every Sunday telling me the best of the internet in the last week. This week features 100 Awesome Music Videos featured by Pitchfork. They're worth a look, trust me. Some seriously good videos, and many oldies but goodies. Ahhh... the days when music television was just that!

For those of you who subscribe to hi-def cable, we've discovered the channels INHD and INHD2. You can read a profile of them here on the tv.about.com website. A Duran Duran concert at Wembley is being broadcast this month - and it's on tomorrow night. I'm so taping it! It's an older concert (April 2004), but it is, I believe, the first tour the 5 original members had done together in some time. I've only seen them live once, and sadly it was not while all five original members were recording/touring.

Karl and I got a date night last night while Madison stayed with Karl's parents. We spent some time at the new Red Rock Hotel/Casino. It's a very nice place - plenty of things for whatever you fancy, whether it be gaming, dining, dancing, sports, etc. There's a very young and hip nightlife there, and we had a reminder how old we are... Okay, okay. We're not old. But we're very beyond the singles bar/club scene. What's nice about waiting until I was older to get married and have a family: Instead of watching the early 20's mingle (and sometimes stumble), going through the mating rituals and enjoying endless evenings of debautchery, wishing for something that might have passed me by - I simply watch with a knowing smile and remember some of my own incredible evenings.

I hope you all had a great weekend!!

Glad you got to enjoy date night. Those are vital, I believe, to keeping the "old flame" burning. You are right, we are not old, but man, oh man do nights like that make me think that we are.

Great date night. We used to have more of them, but it's difficult now because the girls are always going somewhere, and they're not driving yet.

But, I have two with learner's permits, so things should be easier for us soon. I can't wait!

Sounds like a fun weekend! Date nights are important. My boss and his wife have one every week. They get a sitter and go out for the evening.

I'm starting to watch the InHD channels. Yesterday, they had the original Ocean's 11 on. That was sort of neat. Also better than the remake.

The best thing about Red Rock...noone under the age of 21 allowed after 9 PM. I wish all the casinos would follow suit...

Sounds like you had a fun weekend. Betetr than mine.
