Idol Notes and Funny Visual

I must rant about American Idol tonight. I guess I was expecting this to be more of a real showdown, but the only performance that stood out was Taylor's rendition of the Beatles' "Something." It is a beautiful song, and he did a fantastic job. Paris got good reviews from the judges tonight, but I thought she was horrible. I hear the judges comment often about trying to do a song by an artist who has a particular sound, and Prince is definitely one of those artists in my opinion. She murdered his song "Kiss". Then - her performance of Mary J. Blige's "Be Without You" was good, but I wasn't buying it. She's not old enough to have any real idea what that song is all about (cack - she was born the year I graduated from high school, dammit!). Can you tell Paris was on the bottom of my list tonight? I hate to say it, but I think Elliot is going home tomorrow, despite his talent... he's not connecting with the audience. Karl is predicting Katharine, but I'm not seeing it, despite my disinterest in her performances tonight (WHAT key was that "Against All Odds" in, anyway?)

I heard one of my favorite old-school songs on the way to work this morning, "I'm Bad" by LL Cool J. I apologize to any motorists stuck in traffic with me this morning who were subjected to ear-bleeding volume of this very song coming from my car. I was rapping along like I knew what the hell I was doing (hey, I do know all the words). All very comical, I'm sure! For the rest of the day I walked around saying "So Forget Oreos eat Cool J Cookies, I'm Baaaaaad!"

I'm dying laughing over here. Hope you don't take offense to this, but I woulda never pegged you as an LL Cool J kinda gal. So the image of you belting that out is even funnier.

I'm sure everyone around me was either highly annoyed or highly amused. No offense taken! I do really love the old school hip hop - as Matt would say, when it was "fun".

On AI, I'm hoping it's Paris that goes home, but I agree it will probably be Elliott. Katherine's first song was HORRIBLE. I wasn't in the room, but heard it. Good grief. She definitely redeemed herself on the second song. I can't stand Taylor. I vent about him all the time, so I'll stop now.

Katharine is starting to come and go. At first she was brilliant, and every once in a while she still is. But she's hot and that's mostly what counts these days... evidently.

Although, I'm starting to like Kellie Pickler more and more. Hated her at first, but I think most of the contestants up there suck... except for the bald rocker dude. My wife likes his bedroom eyes as he stares into the camera.

Sirius' BackSpin channel is pretty darn amazing and just hearing you mention "I'm Bad" reminds me of it. Interesting stat of you on American Idol, women are over 75% of those voting.

Ken, I have to note here your "Good grief." You're already picking up your future wife's sayings. Or did she get it from you? Hmmm. No, I think she's been saying that for a long time.

Jas: uh, you do know Kellie got booted, right? Or were you too busy noticing Katharine's hotness? I agree that Chris Daughtry has some amazing eyes. He makes me all tingly. hehe

Martin: Backspin is a seriously good channel. I've been listening to it a lot lately. That and Classic Rewind, I'm going through a phase.

I was absolutely rocking out to "In Your Eyes" yesterday. Not so much a rocking out song, but I made it work. :D

Kellie got booted??? Aw Son of a @#$@#%!$!! I didn't catch the past week. Oh well.

If Katharine would just wear something skimpy instead of those maternity clothes she seems to prefer, she's rock my world!

You'll be happy to know that I've predicted that Chris will win. Therefore, he WILL win. I have correctly picked the winner every year - of AI AND Nashville Star. (Although I stopped watching NS about halfway through last year, but I still had a sneaking suspicion that a girl would win.) I can sniff out the winner even when I don't like them.

Well, scratch that. I think I was somewhat unsure about last year. The whole Bo/Carrie thing was a little too close to call. But even with Clay/Ruben, I knew Ruben would end up winning. The judges stroked him all year long. And look at what a huge megastar he has become. Well, huge anyway.
