Delayed Reaction

Ugh, I just watched all the Rockstar: INXS episodes for this week. I really hate saying this, but Ty destroyed one of my very favorite songs, "Everlong" by the Foo Fighters. I like Ty, that was disappointing. I will say this for him, he certainly made up for it on the elimination show. It was Tara's time to go. She doesn't have any charisma.

I have forgotten how much I love INXS. How shameful, I don't have a single album. I'll have to work on that.

I was really happy to know that they were going to attempt two of my favorite songs: "Everlong" and "If You Could Only See." I was pretty depressed after hearing them. It does go to show you that some people can perform songs and others can sing them. They're still working on finding someone that can do both well.

You need to start adding to the collection, Lora. Start with Kick and then Listen Like Thieves. Welcome To Whereever You Are is good... actually I could say that about all of their stuff. I like to start early with a band and work my ways to the later stuff so I grow with them. B)

I will have to get started. I was really surprised - I just knew I'd bought something by them, right? I opened the cabinet... "Incubus, Insane Clown Posse, and J. Geils. Wait! That's it? I own effing Insane Clown Posse, but no INXS? WTF??" I will have to start with Shoobah Shoobah, because "Don't Change" and "One Thing" are two of the best INXS tunes, IMHO.

I liked INXS, too. But, I don't really like the show. I'm not too sure why, but I think it's because everything is turning into an American Idol clone. One of those shows is enough for me.

Album? I thought I was the only one who used that term. :)

I have to use the word "album" here and there. When writing about music news, you find yourself needing to find good ways of mentioning the next upcoming CD and I tend to use the words "release," "disc," "compilation," "album" and "effort" to keep from sounding repetitive.

I still need to get Shabooh Shoobah and for some reason never grabbed it. "Don't Change" is the song that really got me interested in them even though "Mystify" is my favorite song by them.

I can't kick the habit of using "album". I grew up with vinyl, and I guess I still see album applying as a synonym. :)

I ordered copies of Shoobah Shoobah and The Swing. Songs and videos from those albums are what got me hooked on them originally.
