Monsoon Has Arrived!

The monsoon season has finally reached us here in Las Vegas. We had our first series of storms last night - the sky was filled with lightning and thunder. Out here in Northwest Vegas we really got some serious rain - it was raining so hard it sounded like marbles hitting my patio cover. This is, by far, my favorite time of year. Mind you with this weather comes the huge risk of flash floods - and I don't wish that sort of luck on anyone. I just think that thunderstorms in the desert are somehow very beautiful. Besides, who doesn't like a good summer rain?

I just love the smell of rain. Dunno why. Yes, it is cool seeing it rain in a desert... it's one of those perfect opposites. I don't like driving in the rain though.

I too love the smell of rain - not really sure why either. It rained way too much in the Bay Area this year so I escaped more than once to Vegas (baaby!). It looks like your area had a couple of flash floods, I guess I have to email a couple of friends down there to see how they made out.

The only problem here is that the rain is sometimes accompanied by a hurricane. As long as we have one without the other, I'm perfectly fine letting the wet stuff fall.

I also love the rain and the awesome lightning show we get this time of year. The only thing i hate is the humidity... Oh well what is that saying.. you can't have your cake and eat it to.
