I'm Free!!! I'm Free!!!

Karl and I are going out tonight. Madison is staying over at grandma's, and we're going to pull an all-nighter. Doing what? Who cares. We haven't been anyone but Mom and Dad since March, so whatever it is, we are just going to have a great time being simply Lora and Karl for the evening.

Madison's new favorite toy is her voice. If you've not heard my child squeal, it will catch you off guard if you're not expecting it. Her voice is, well... loud. We were in the grocery store yesterday and she gave out happy squeals in just about every single aisle, which startled some of the other shoppers. I was having such a hard time not giggling out loud (which only encourages her), and I got a few weird looks. She also has a new fascination with balloons since her birthday, and it's one of the first words she's tried to speak besides "Mom" and "Dad". It's soooo cute, it sounds like "broooon" when she says it. There were mylar balloons all over the store, so when she wasn't letting out happy (but loud) squeals, she was saying "broooon" and pointing at them to anyone she could get eye contact with.

I used to be one of those people who couldn't get far enough away from parents with babies in stores, restaurants, etc. I got annoyed at crying babies and wondered why the hell that parent wasn't leaving immediately. Now, I sympathize and give those parents a smile...

Hope you have a great time. It is funny how you change once you have a child. I have patience for babies, excpet when they are screaming at the top of their lungs in a restaurant. Other than that go ahead and make all the noise they want :)

Hope you both go an enjoy yourself. It's good to take the Mom and Dad hats off for awhile.

We did have a great time... thanks guys.

I agree with the idea of babies screaming in restaurants. If you can't settle them down in x minutes, it's time to take the food to go!

Madison is defintely going to be an only child... I'd have some explaining to do if I ended up pregnant, considering Karl had a vasectomy when Madison was 6 months old!
