The Sands of Time

I got to visit with my friend Adele today and her family. I can't believe I forgot my camera, but she did take pictures that I'm hoping she'll email me when she gets back to Boston.

What a weird thing it was, sitting in the living room of her parents' home with our children. This is the same living room I spent many a day throughout most of my preteen and teenage years. We were both kind of freaked out that we're now approaching 35!! I said, "If you told me 15+ years ago that we'd be sitting her like this with our babies, I'd of said you had too much to drink!"

It is always so cool to see her even though we don't get to chat too often anymore - lives change and people move in different directions. It makes me happy to know we're still friends and we'll always be a part of each other's lives, even if we live an entire nation apart.

It is amazing to see yourself somewhere you didn't expect years down the road. Very cool to also see a home you remember from your teens with new eyes. Amazing how things look smaller. B)

I have a good friend like that, that I only get to catch up with once or twice a year when he comes to visit Vegas. We went to high school together, and he just became a new dad. Even though we are not part of the daily events that go on in each others lives, it is always nice to know that we can just catch up right where we left off.
