SNL Clip

I don't watch SNL anymore but I caught this Justin Timberlake appearance (Paul Rudd was guest star) on Hulu tonight and man, it's funny... he's actually pretty good with impressions. It helps to get some of the jokes if you've seen his recent appearances (i.e. Dick In A Box). Enjoy!

"Mooooove!!"

I work for a state agency that has 1500+ users, and we decided rather quickly to completely change our email system. We're still using the same email client - but the Exchange servers (think of them as post offices that handle your mail along the way) will be completely different, and managed by someone else. This my friends, is a HUGE project. Management decided to empower the users and provide instructions for backing up current inboxes and then empower them to complete the switch themselves. Uhhhhh... right. This really means we couldn't agree on the most effective way to complete this, and it's way too many users for our small crew to touch each user account.

Well the plan didn't really work, but even if 20% of the staff figured it out on their own, it was 20% less users I had to deal with (that's my mantra, anyway). Another 60% couldn't or wouldn't follow directions (we even gave them pretty pictures) and the other 20% are having genuine problems. I was needing jello shooters somewhere around 1pm today!

So I'm feeling a little like that SNL character, Nick Burns, Your Company's Computer Guy.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

It is a tragedy I don't have my camera today - it is the perfect winter day here in Las Vegas. It's also too bad I'm not still snuggled in bed, but hey, I can't have everything. The mountains surrounding the valley are covered in a light layer of snow, the sky is grey and it feels like Christmas. It's cold, but there's no wind - it's dark outside but not gloomy. Only 5 shopping days until Christmas!

Vegas Princess got me browsing NBC.com and YouTube.com checking out SNL skits, and I found this Christmas Classic.

On a totally unrelated note - I saw an old Alfa Romeo on the road this morning. It had a Nevada "Classic Rod" license plate. Now I have nothing against classic European cars, but a classic rod? I don't think so. Perhaps just "classic" or "Euro-Classic"?

Have a day full of warm fuzzies!
