What's In My Head

I have to go to Pahrump tomorrow. It's sort of an emergency trip, meaning it's unplanned. I have so many other things I wanted to accomplish tomorrow, but meh... it's the nature of the beast. I should be back in the office before lunch.

A new year is coming! I don't make new year's resolutions, they're meant to be broken. I'm excited for a new year... not that 2008 was some sort of disaster, but I am hoping 2009 is a much better one. I've made some good personal changes this year, and I'm going to keep the progress going.

Speaking of progress, I decided to give up Rockstars. Nooooo, I'm still totally in to rock stars, LOL, but the caffeinated variety? Needs to go. It's ridiculously expensive, and that huge amount of caffeine doesn't even affect me anymore. So I'm done. I haven't had one since Christmas day! Not like it was hard, really... I didn't give up caffeine all together (there's just no reason to give up a good cup of coffee or a diet Mt. Dew).

There isn't enough time in the day. That sounds cliché, doesn't it?

I'm tired... and I just had four days off?!! Oh wait, I get another 4 days off this week. Life is good!

Trust me when I say I don't think anyone is hoping for a better 2009 than I am - and ultimately today is the test that's going to determine how my year will start. I just keep hoping no more cancer, no more chemo - then hopefully I'll be able to work on improving other things - like walking daily, and giving up soda again, which I recently just started drinking again - among other things. But it all comes down to this test and unfinished surgeries that need to be done! So wish me luck! And of course I hope your new year is better than the last!

You're a Rock Star! (cue Pink).

But two four day weekends? What about all of those poor servers that will be missing you on Friday?

Are you sure you aren't still drinking Rockstars? You zoomed around to a bunch of topics - LOL

Anyway, I'm totally looking forward to 2009. There some really good things in 2008, but some not-so-good things either.

Enjoy your trip to Pahrump!

Emergency trip to Pahrump? Exciting!!! My husband almost had to make one of those. Instead he gets a trip to Laughlin tonight and tomorrow. Just where everybody wants to hang out on New Year's Eve day!

Good luck on getting rid of the Rockstars. I keep thinking that maybe I'll give up caffeine this year, but I'm not sure I can do it. I cut back on soda when I was training for my last marathon, only allowing myself one each week after my long runs. But then I started back with a vengeance and I'm still downing them like crazy!

I came up with something really original for 2009. I'm going to lose weight.

It's fun just to say Pahrump, wonder how it got it's name.

Happy New Year to you and enjoy even more days off.
