Overheard at My House

For the last week, Madison has been using the word "lame". But you have to get it in the right context. Get a total smart ass tone to your voice and say "Laaaaame". Make sure you have attitude on your face too for the total effect. When I asked her where she learned to use the word like that, she didn't miss a beat when she replied "Trees. The trees, Mommy." ?????

Today Madison is feeling under the weather. It started last night with a slightly stuffy nose, but when I picked her up this afternoon, underneath her nose is totally red and raw, and she's sneezy and snotty. I'm hoping it's that we played in all kinds of nature yesterday at the park, and she's having some allergy issues. When we got home today, as she was taking her shoes off, she gave me the most pitiful look, with puppy-dog eyes and a weak voice, and said "Mommy, I think I'm going to die." So I am thinking I need to get her theatre lessons too, cause she's got that drama queen routine down.

I can remember when D1 repeated something I said that wasn't very flattering. I learned very quickly what not to say in front of my children.

Heck, just give her her academy award right now. She's too funny. It's awesome that you have talking trees there too and they teach such cool stuff, too. I hope she feels better soon.

ROTF!
Reading this made me think of a scene in The Evil Dead. "The trees, they're alive."
