What's On My iPod

Dashboard Confessional - "Stolen" - I've heard things from this band before I like, but this is actually the first single I've downloaded. A good, sweet, catchy song.

Death Cab for Cutie - "I Will Possess Your Heart" - I have to admit the first time I heard this song I thought it had stalker written all over it (sort of like The Police's "Every Breath You Take"). But another listen and I lightened up. It grew on me pretty quickly.

Janet Jackson - "The Pleasure Principle" - I've been listening to Janet all week on the shuffle while I walk, I hadn't given her a good listen in a long time. This is in my top 10 favorite Janet Jackson songs.

Jason Mraz - "I'm Yours" - I'd been eyeing his "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things." CD for awhile and finally picked it up this week. I'm glad I did, and this song is a good example why.

Sha-Na-Na - "Born to Hand Jive" - Of course, this is from the Grease soundtrack, which I imported tonight (again). This is the first music I ever chose for myself after seeing the movie in the theater (wow I just aged myself). So this pretty much started my love for music. I still have my original vinyl copy. How strange that Madison will never really know what "records" are?

Alissa: If you haven't heard the rest of the CD, I bet you'd like it too.

Fred: Did you see the HIMYM episode about the Fiero, and that Proclaimers song? Ohhh, it's funny.

"I Will Possess Your Heart" is one of those terrific arrangements that can sound stark, tense and full at the drop of a hat. I think the lyrics slightly fail it in the verse (which could be said that it is blues based and bears repeating) but is one of the better songs out recently. I'm a bigger fan of their "I Will Follow You Into The Dark."

I also saw "Grease" in the theater as a kid. I remember being excited about Sha Na Na being in the movie because their variety show was one of my favorites at the time. Since I haven't outgrown corny comedy or good music, I would immediately buy "Sha Na Na" on DVD if they ever release it.
