Weekend Update

This weekend flew by so fast, I can't believe we're already approaching Sunday evening.

Madison's allergies are bothering her or she's caught a cold. I can't figure out which yet, cause it's just a runny nose since Friday... so I'm leaning toward the allergy side. But you know I'm still taking the Airborne, just in case. I have a lot of plans this week, and being sick is not one of them!

We're currently watching Toy Story, and this is the first time Madison has ever seen it. I bought it a year ago and for whatever reason it never looked good to her. How is that possible? Anyway, a few of us at work were talking about it last week so I thought I'd pull it out again. Of course she remembered the Buzz Lightyear ride at Disneyland, so she's currently on the sofa next to me, transfixed.

Our oven finally died, so we started our day at Lowe's buying a new range. Ranges are expensive?! I cannot believe the amount of money we spent, this thing better kick ass. It's got 5 burners and a convection oven. Yeah, I know, I didn't absolutely have to have those features. These two features along with one really huge burner it comes with (16000 BTU if you're really wondering) added about $100 to the price; that isn't much if you knew the total cost. But anything that makes cooking easier is worth every penny, because we all know how much I love to cook. Here's a picture of it:It's not arriving until next Saturday, so I can only cook stovetop items for the next week (the top burners work, the oven itself is dead). Awwwww, darn. I'm going to have to keep it simple for the week. :)

As a comic collector as a child, I found myself reading them again over a decade later and enjoying the writing more with my new perspective. I think Maddy hit a perspective peak that allows her to understand what she didn't before... meaning there are a few more levels before the adult humor in some of those come across.

Hope she feels better.

Interesting what you learn about stoves. I use mine here and there but expect that I'll be looking at them a bit more intently in the future.

Toy Story has to be my favorite Disney movie. I just adore it and Toy Story 2. I hope Madison liked it.

I can never wrap my head around how expensive appliances are. When we bought our fridge I thought I wuold pass out. I like to look at new washers and dryers but always collapse at the prices.
