Desert Sunsets

I've been seeing the sunset every night since I've been walking. If you've never seen a desert sunset, you've not lived!! It's one of those things I try to soak in whenever I can, they're one of the simple beauties in life! Tonight's was especially beautiful - the sky was completely clear and a perfect shade of ocean blue. The sun was already behind the mountains but you could still see a yellow outline above them - and there were these huge rays streaming from the mountain the sun was directly behind, with each ray getting wider and wider as they stretched toward the east. The moon was directly above the mountains already - a perfect white sliver with a hinted shadow of the rest of it. Next to the moon was this gigantic star; when I first saw it I thought for sure it was a planet, but it twinkled (and planets don't twinkle).

Descriptive writing wasn't my forte in school, so hopefully you got an image of what I got to enjoy this evening!

LMAO at "planets don't twinkle" Perhaps you blinked and mistook it for a twinkle? :)

Sounds beautiful. If your able you should bring your camera out with you.

I love the sunsets here. It is one of my favorite times of day. In fact I find myself going outside at work and venturing up to the roof to view nature's best show. Bring your camera next walk and snap us some pictures! Although they do not do them justice it would be nice to see the sunset here! I snapped one with my cell phone once and it wasn't half bad.

Well, it sounds like a gorgeous backdrop. I've never been anywhere near a desert, so I'll have to take your word for it. If desert sunsets are anything like sunsets over the lake (or ocean), then it's gotta be gorgeous. Oh and Saturn has been to the right and slightly below the moon, so it may have been a planet.
Gotta agree w/ Molie-- get a picture for us nowhere near the desert folks.
