What's on Your IPod?

One of the great advantages of working with other geeks like myself is that we love a lot of the same toys. A couple of us got to talking about our IPods and the goods on them. Yeah, I know... everyone owns an IPod - but I really get into mine; there's more to it than just listening. For a mechanic, it's more than just putting in the key and driving, right?

Browsing through someone's IPod can be almost like reading a diary. I mean, playlists can be highly personal things! I got some new song recommendations today that I already downloaded into my "Workout Tunes" playlist, and I can't wait to listen to them on my walk tonight.

I just recently started getting into playlists; I have over 6000 songs so sometimes it takes awhile to make a really good list. Tell me about your favorite playlist. What kind of music is it - a particular genre? A particular artist? Upbeat or mellow? My favorite playlist is one I'm currently building. The theme you ask? Music that takes me somewhere else for just a little while.

OH!!! I am just like you in this way, but you have way more songs than me, I am up to 3,598 and still adding daily.

I would love to take a look at yours, I bet its so good. I have so many playlists! Here a few of my faves:

#1 songs (these are about 50 songs that I LOVE and never tire of hearing that will usually lift me out of bad mood).

I have playlists for years, 60's - 00s.

Here are some others: Fun, Sleep, Keven, Rock-out, Mellow, Road Trip, Chicks, Summer and Romantic.

Then there's this cool thing I found called "The Filter" that will create playlists for you based on a few songs you tell it. It does more than that but its been fun to use. http://www.thefilter.com/

I love my iPod but I am always teased for my geeky taste in music so I am not sharing. ;-)

A couple of my most played playlists are songs comprised of past seasons soundtracks of Grey's Anatomy and Gilmore Girls.

I couldn't bring myself to buy an IPod. I own a Creative Zen player instead.

6000 songs? What iPod do you have that holds 6000 songs! I don't even think I know 6000 songs!

My favorite playlist is my Broadway playlist. It has all my favorite Broadway showtunes.

I'm on iPod #2. I bought my first one just before the boom hit. For about six months (if that), I was one of the only people at my gym to have the white earbuds jammed in my earholes.

Now, of course, you can't swing a dead cat over your head without hitting some manner of iPod.

I've been an Apple Monkey for years, so I can dig it.

Personally, I enjoy watching TV shows on my iPod when I'm traveling. It passes the time in the air nicely.
