What's in My Head

As I sit here with my lunch and Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas CD, I thought I'd share some of what's in my head today.

The boss left today, and it has been a very slow, pleasant week. That's because he's been here. Now that he's gone, I'm sure I'll be getting paged hourly. This is me, with my fingers crossed. I had time to start a major cleaning in my office today! All I have left is my bookshelf. It feels sooooooo good.

Remember that ex-boyfriend I keep dreaming about? Yeah. I heard from him last week. That was effing weird. I can probably count on one hand how many times he's contacted me in ten years. We usually find ourselves at social functions for mutual friends, which is entirely different. There's other men from my past I'd much rather dream about. At least they would be the kind of dreams I woudn't want to wake from... Don't get me wrong, this ex and I are very much on friendly terms. But he's still renting all that space in my dreams, which pisses me off. And, he has no idea I'm still carrying it around.

On the same note, one of the things I love most about the Christmas season is hearing from old friends. I've been getting the smilies every day when opening the snail mail/email and retrieving voicemail!

My oldest stepsister is moving back to Vegas. Yay! Madison is going to be so happy - this is her favorite aunt who is also Mommy to two of her cousins. It will be nice to have her best friend back. At least it didn't take her too long to realize life in Mississippi wasn't what she thought it would be. With that, my Dad is coming back with her to help her bring all her things back. He's staying with us for 6 days!! I'll be off work while he's here and I'm really looking forward to spending time with him. Madison has also missed him terribly. Who knows, perhaps he won't be far behind her in moving back...

So - what's in your head today?

That's awesome that your step-sister is moving back, and even better that your Dad will be here for a little bit. You must be excited.

Today was uber busy. Pretty much from 7 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Yuck. No time for random thoughts.

The whole running-into-the-ex thing...you know about "the collective unconscious?" I totally believe in that now, especially in the last few years. I've seen evidence that it exists. If you think hard enough about something, or find yourself dreaming about something, it's amazing how often those thoughts will manifest themselves through other people. I'm not explaining in properly, but you probably know what I mean.

I'm back at work after having worked 18 days straight and only having two days off...

I think I should have called in sick. I need one more day.
