Vegas - Without Talent?

American Idol found only 11 people who could sing in Las Vegas. WTF? That was highly disappointing.

Oh, and what's up with the gimmicks, people? Honestly, has anyone gotten to Hollywood with one of those stupid costumes?

Obviously I need more coffee.

Last night was especially bad. I agree with you - gimmicks never work, and less so if you aren't talented.

This being said, I think it's flat our rude of the judges (Paula) to laugh at folks during their auditions. I realize the real world isn't always nice, but that still doesn't make it right.

And they thought they were good, too. I'm always amazed at that part.

I can't help but think that the majority of the really bad auditioners know that they are bad, and that they are just trying to get on tv.

I was watching Gilmore Girls last night but would flip to Idol during commercials. I saw the twin girls auditioning, the twin thing rarely works with the judges.

I was so dissapointed last night. I am getting really annoyed with the show. Watching one or two really bad auditions is ok, but come on, an hours worth??????

The judges seemed a little harsh, and kinda picky here in Vegas. They have sent on a lot worse than the guy who works at the Venetian.

Yeah but last year there were 2 out of the top 12 from Vegas so maybe they are trying to ppear fair and instead just screwing things up. Or maybe nobody good went to the Vegas auditions...

Ken: Agreed, I think it's rude when they laugh. I feel so bad for them.

Fred: That's the funny part. I often wonder what parallel universe they're in to think so highly of themselves.

Lily: I think you're on to something there - everyone wants their 15 minutes.

Teri: Yeah I thought that guy from the Venetian was better than some they'd sent through. They were kind of tough last night.

Lloyd: I sure wish I understood why a city of entertainment had so little talent show up.

LOL!!! Your so funny. I can't handle watching it till they get through all the bad talent and enter into the countdown of the last 12. I just can't force myself through it.

Do the really awful singers really truly believe they have talent? Please say no...that's just pathetic.

Maybe I need more chocolate.

I just wish they would have shown us the other good ones instead of Ryan Seacrest doing an add for teh Vegas Vacation Council.

And! What is with the group montages in each city -- "I will survive" was last night's debacle.

Barbara: Yeah, I am wondering why we're watching the auditions this season. Either the talent pool was that little, or they think we want to see CRAP for a whole hour - or two!

Amy: And how did they get all of those bad singers to actually sing that song. Must be a whole lot going on during taping that we never see.

I think what people forget is that every year there is only one new age group that couldn't try out for Idol the year before that can now. So essentially, you are seeing everyone that tried out before (and took lessons to improve), anyone that was in under a rock and didn't know American Idol existed and people that think they have a better chance this year. I really think that after awhile, the talent pool will look more like a bathtub soon.
