I've always liked this album. I think I really got hooked when I heard it played along side some songs by Skinny Puppy. It kind of drew out some of the darker nature of it all. Which was quite odd because the darkest material they had going for them before this album was a bit of S&M play with "Master And Servant." "It Doesn't Matter" is a beautiful song that still haunts me here and there. "Lie To Me" has a sexiness that makes it sound like Gahan's voice is slithering through your mind as if he were Adam or Eve being tempted by the serpent. "Somebody" is ballad perfection. "Blasphemous Rumours" is a great song of coming to terms with our role in the universe... however small it may be. But somehow it all comes together very well. B) Never understood the album cover though.

The album cover is interesting... some sort of irony or a metaphor I never understood either. There's a mixture of what should be a happy moment, a marriage - mixed with the drab factory looking background. I never did get the point.
