Weekend Update

Friday night Madison and I attended my niece Breana's dance recital with the family. The whole show was about an hour, with at least 16 different dance classes performing. They had the show running like a well-oiled machine, and it was seriously cute and entertaining the whole hour. I noted how far this city has come with such ordeals - the recital was held at the Horn Theatre located at the College of Southern Nevada, and I noted that my junior high's orchestra had their recital the night before. When I was in the orchestra there, our holiday recitals were always in the mall - set in the middle of a busy, crowded area with little hype and very little organization (thus, little attendance). So there's a plus to this city's growth.

Saturday night was girl's night out!! There is no therapy in the world equivalent to a great night out with friends. We went to a local Mediterranean Cafe and hookah lounge, Paymon's. This place was fantastic! We had an incredible dinner, some drinks, and visited the hookah lounge... we were there for hours trying different flavors, talking and laughing our asses off. Amy, Shannon and I had the best time (there's even photographic evidence, but I don't have it yet...). I do believe we're going to have make this a regular occurrence!

Today the family threw a birthday party for Karl and myself since both our birthdays are in December. Even though I watched my Cowboys lose (and to Philly!), it was a great afternoon. Now I'm home, warm and snuggled in the chair, wondering how I'm going to motivate myself to work out tonight.

I hope you all had a really fabulous weekend.

Glad you had fun Saturday night, and a good weekend overall even if the Cowboys lost.

I feel your football pain. My Steelers just lost 2 in a row. :(

I've never been big on recitals but when one has a vested interest, it is amazing how it improves them.

I do find it amazing how everyone is blaming Jessica Simpson's showing up to the game as being the big distraction to Romo. Scapegoats can be found anywhere, I guess.

I went & checked out the website curious what a "hookah" was - the image looks a lot like a bong, the whole experience sounds like the "hookah man's" hit the pipe a few too many times with a little sumtin' sumtin' besides "flavored" tobacco. Only in Sin City! Sounds fun, but since I haven't smoked anything in close to 10 years it would probably kill my throat to take a few hits - besides Ruben would kill me if I did. I can't drink (my meds), I can't smoke. I don't get any fun = (
