It's My Pity Pot

I'm having a day on the pity pot. So bear with me, this won't take long.

Madison started out with the RSV virus last Wednesday. If you don't know what that is, you can check it out here. The cliff notes version: A cold on steroids, that is highly contagious and lasts a long time. Okay, no biggie - this is a common virus in daycare, and most kids get this several times in their lives; although adults are also vulnerable to it, it usually is nothing more than a bad cold for them. Fast forward to Saturday, and I come down with it. So the whole house is pretty miserable, because everyone who lives in this house gets whiney and bitchy when they don't feel good. Okay, now fast forward to today (Tuesday). Madison is still recovering from this crazy virus but wakes up with her eyes stuck together this morning. I haven't slept in two days - so it's time for both of us to get back to the doctor. Yup, Madison has pink eye. I am the lucky winner of a sinus infection. PINK EYE? Man, I'm already going to be out of work for three to four days. If I come down with that too, the work week is shot and Christmas is definitely questionable.

It would be so nice if this whole house could be healthy for longer than three damn weeks at a time. Have I ever mentioned how much I HATE the cold months of the year? Gimme 110 any day, without the cold/flu season. That would be a piece of Utopia.

Okay, I'm done whining. Please return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Sorry to hear everyone is sick. It totally stinks when not only is your little one sick but you're sick too.

All ya want to do in crawl into bed but you can't because you have a little one who relies on you.

Hope everyone is feeling better real soon.

Whoa. That's pretty heavy duty. I've heard day care is an incubator for lots of illnesses. Hopefully you all recover in time for Christmas.

Pink eye though - rough deal.

Hope that you, Karl and Maddy get better quickly. B) I don't envy you at all. It is amazing how much fighting a young child does with viruses when they are young. Ears, eyes, sinus, lungs... it's pretty scary but to top it off, you share with your parents. Poor girl isn't getting much sympathy when everyone around her is saying, "Yeah, I can't breathe either." hahaha B( My holiday wish for you all is a good night of rest and an easy-going Christmas.

I'm sorry that you and the fam aren't feeling well, that really sucks! I hope y'all start feeling better soon and that you stay "bug free" for a while. Merry Christmas and I wish you a Happy (and healthy) New Year

Chicken soup anyone?

I hope that you are all back on the mend soon. Warm compresses on her eyes will bring lots of relief and a shot of whatever you have in the house that's hard should do the trick for you. Seriously, though... feel better my friends.

Whining can be theraputic and this is the perfect place to do it. Or feel free to email me next time you get on the pot and I'll do my best to console you. I promise I'll never say "just be thankful for the good things in your life" like one of my friends does to me, makes me want to punch her.

I said a prayer for your sweet little baby and hope you are all feeling good for Christmas

Lily: Thank you for your comments. That's exactly how I feel, and it's just comforting to hear someone say it.

Ken: Yeah, I keep having phantom itchies, I hope that's all they are.

Martin: Thanks for the holiday wishes. I do hope they come true!

Nik: Thank you! I hope you have a great holiday and a Happy New Year too!

Jas: Thanks for the blessings. :)

Vavoom: Send some of those vacation weather rays this way, and enjoy your holiday!

Amy: Thank you. I got your message today - sorry I couldn't return your call, I lost my voice. You are very good to me, my friend.

Layla: Thank you for the well wishes and prayers. I do hate it when I get those "be thankful" speeches too... sometimes you just wanna regress to age 10, and dammit, that's okay. :)

You are all so kind to actually read through my little tantrum and wish us all well. Thank you so much for stopping by - and if I don't get a chance to say it again, I wish you all a very special holiday weekend.

Can you catch this thing via the net? I am thinking I caught whatever is plaguing my chest from you. I need to blame someone, and well, you will do nicely. :-)
